Youngest Captain to Hoist Lord Stanley

After a coaching change midway through February, being counted out in the Washington series and coming to the finals against the almighty Detroit Red Wings yet again... the Pittsburgh Penguins are your 2009 Stanley Cup Champs. They did this in game 7 without needing Malkin or Crosby to score a goal. Maxime Talbot stepped up and played the game of his life, scoring two goals in the final game. Marc-André Fleury played yet another solid game and had a last second sprawling save to secure the victory. The Conn Smythe went to Malkin and it was well deserved.




Hopefully next year we can finally not only have a flurry of Canadians bring the cup home with them, but an actual Canadian team win it! I haven't heard the Canadian national anthem sung in the finals for years now...
